What doesn't work: Changing sleep schedules
Some find that they have difficulty changing from one type of polyphasic to another (Polyphasic Sleep 2.0). Others have found that they can't change back to monophasic, and instead end up stuck in eg. biphasic. Others can switch back and forth between polyphasic and monophasic with no problems (When does Adaption end?). This may be related to whether they're a lark or an owl (see Planning your sleep schedule).
