Long Watches
As a general rule, you can lengthen one of your waking periods by an hour or two, although you sometimes get a little tired/weird. Steve Pavlina has found that you can essentially extend your 4-hour watch to 8 by judicious use of caffeine, but that you have to sleep later to make up for it.
Reboots
Do periodic reboots (see What is it pages). This apparently boosts your mental capacities for some period of time after the test, as Stampi discovered.
